Cradl is excited to announce the development of a new course, ENGL 675, digital teaching. This course explores issues and methodologies related to the integration of digital technologies into teaching. Topics include instructor-student dynamics in the technology-assisted classroom, the role of social media in education, emerging forms of digital composing, and opportunities for extending the classroom through online platforms. Information technologies are reshaping the practice of education. Part survey, the class, explores pedagogical theories and methods in light of phenomena like social media, digital video, audio, and the Web. The class also includes hands-on instruction in developing assignments that tap into the educational potential of digital tools and activities. The class also invites participants to become digital creators, producing projects that require practice in the rhetorical strategies and techniques of online and multimodal composing.
